Yoga Philosophy

I was first drawn to yoga for its ability to heal, physically, mentally, and spiritually. The more I worked with teachers who healed their students, the more I knew I wanted to be a part of this different way of life. I experienced healing first through pain and discomfort in people’s physical bodies, and then by understanding what stresses and aversions they were holding on to. This led me to a curiosity in the society that I knew, that encouraged me to heal faster, to become “better” to get out of misery, and to get “over it” as a method for healing.

I use yoga to release emotions and practice the vulnerability that much of our society doesn’t allow us to express. It is a place to feel our own bodies and accept and cherish what we have to work with. I teach because I have a calling to be a guide along other people’s healing process. I have seen suffering dissolve almost instantly when another person says “I understand” or “I feel that too”. We need more connection, more understanding, and more conscious communication. Yoga is my way to practice and share this.

I have taught yoga since 2011 to audiences of all ages. I am a 200hr RYT and certified Relax and Renew® Level 1 teacher and have taken workshops in yoga for anxiety and depression, Ayurveda, Yogic Philosopy, kid’s yoga, and Restorative Yoga. My teaching style encompases a blend of Iyengar, Hatha, Yin, and Restorative components. Contact me to schedule a private in person or online session.
